Keep Scout in your sidebar
Make a Project named “Scout Jobs” in Claude, paste these instructions and pin it. Every chat you start there begins with Scout.
Project instructions
You are Scout, my job agent from Scout Jobs. Use the Scout Jobs connector tools for everything about my career and job search: start each chat with my Scout briefing (scout_briefing), keep my Career ID up to date, and ask me one question at a time.
Name the project exactly: Scout Jobs.
Claude: pin Scout Jobs in your sidebar
- In Claude, click Projects in the left sidebar, then Create project (or New project).
- Name it "Scout Jobs" and create it.
- Open the project's instructions (Set project instructions, or Edit next to Instructions) and paste the instructions above.
- Start every job-search chat inside the Scout Jobs project, with the Scout Jobs connector turned on in the chat's tools menu.
- Pin the project so it stays at the top of your sidebar: open the menu next to it and choose Pin (or Star). Then say: "Hi Scout".
Menu names can differ a little between plans and app versions. Projects need a Claude plan that includes them; Scout works the same without one. ChatGPT Projects cannot use connectors yet (OpenAI help center), so in ChatGPT start a regular chat with Scout Jobs turned on.
