What Scout Jobs collects, why, who helps us run it, how long we keep it, and what you can do about it. Plain words, no tricks.
Effective October 6, 2026. BeChosen runs Scout Jobs at scoutjob.ai.
Who we are
Scout Jobs (“Scout”) is a job-search agent run by BeChosen (“we”, “us”). You use it through scoutjob.ai and through the AI apps you connect it to, like Claude or ChatGPT.
Contact: scout@scoutjob.ai, or by mail at BeChosen, 1 Blue Hill Plaza, Suite 1509, Pearl River, NY 10965.
What we collect
Only what Scout needs to work for you:
- Your account: your email address, your name if you give it, and the sign-in ID from our sign-in provider. If you came through one of our sign-up pages, also the answers you gave there and the page you came from.
- Your Career ID: your resume (text or file), your LinkedIn profile or text, your answers to Scout's questions, your biggest challenge, your job preferences (titles, places, remote, pay, employers to skip), and what Scout learns about your strengths.
- Your work with Scout: notes, documents Scout saves for you (resumes, cover letters, Showcase drafts), job matches, companies you watch, and the applications you track and their status.
- Your phone number, only if you add it. Scout texts it only after you tick the texts box and confirm the number with a code.
- Consent records: what you agreed to (email, texts, Telegram), the exact wording you saw, its version, when and where.
- Connected AI apps: which apps you connected and when they last used Scout, and the access tokens and Scout keys that let them in (we store these as one-way hashes, not in readable form).
- Payments: what you bought, receipts, and Stripe's customer and payment-method IDs. We never see or store your card number.
- Usage: which Scout outcomes you used and how often, and a log of what Scout's own AI work cost.
- Messages: the messages Scout sends you, and your replies to Scout's emails, texts and Telegram messages, saved as notes or answers (for emails, only your reply, without the quoted part). To check that emails really come from you, we keep a short sample of email headers.
Our hosting provider handles standard request data, like your IP address, to deliver and protect the service. We use your IP address briefly, in memory, to limit abuse of app sign-up; we do not store it.
Why we use it
- To run Scout for you: build your Career ID, find and rank jobs, prepare truthful applications, track them and brief you.
- To keep one memory across every AI app you connect.
- To send the alerts and messages you chose (email, text, Telegram), and service messages like receipts.
- To take payments, send receipts and handle undo requests.
- To keep Scout safe: stop abuse, check that messages are really from you, and fix problems.
We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell it.
AI processing
Your own AI app (Claude, ChatGPT or another) reads and writes your Career ID through Scout when you use it. What you say there is handled under that app's own privacy policy.
Some of Scout's work runs on our side using Anthropic's API: tailored resumes, cover letters, fit reviews, your diagnosis report and short notes. For that we send Anthropic the parts of your Career ID and the job details the task needs. Under its commercial terms, Anthropic does not train its models on content we send through its API.
Cookies
Scout uses only the cookies it needs to sign you in and keep forms safe:
- scout_session: keeps you signed in, for 1 hour.
- scout_auth_csrf and scout_csrf: protect sign-in and forms from forgery, for 15 and 30 minutes.
- scout_switch: remembers for 2 minutes that you chose to switch accounts.
- scout_pkce: secures the sign-in handshake, for 10 minutes.
While sign-in moves between providers, the sign-in page loads Clerk's sign-in tools and Cloudflare's bot check, which keep their own cookies on their own domains. Scout uses no advertising or analytics cookies and no tracking pixels.
How long we keep it
- Reply addresses in Scout's emails stop working after 30 days, and we delete them 30 days after that.
- Email header samples: deleted after 14 days.
- Records of finished AI tasks and daily AI cost logs: deleted after 30 days.
- Everything else (your account, Career ID, notes, documents, applications, consent records and purchases) is kept while your account is open, so Scout can keep working for you.
Scout does not delete accounts on its own. To delete your account and data, email scout@scoutjob.ai from your account email. We delete it within 30 days, except records the law requires us to keep (such as payment records) and the record of an opt-out, which we keep so we never message you again by mistake.
Your choices
- See or take your data: ask Scout in your AI app for an export of everything Scout holds about you.
- Fix it: tell Scout, or edit it in your AI app; your Career ID changes only when you say so.
- Delete it: email scout@scoutjob.ai.
- Stop messages: unsubscribe from any email, reply STOP to any text, or send /stop to the Telegram bot.
- Disconnect an app: sign Scout out of it under Sign in and sign out on your Account page (scoutjob.ai/home/account), where you can also sign out everywhere, or remove Scout in that app's settings. Turn off a personal Scout key at scoutjob.ai/account/keys.
We will not treat you differently for using any of these choices.
Security
Connections are encrypted, access tokens and keys are stored as hashes, and anything that sends, applies, publishes or charges needs your own tap on a scoutjob.ai page. No system is perfectly secure; if something goes wrong that affects you, we will tell you.
Age and location
Scout is for people 18 and older, and it is built for job searches in the United States. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; if you think we have, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we update the date at the top. If a change matters, we tell you before it applies.
